I have a issue with my 7 month old male Cairn Terrier. He gets very excited when we come home or a visitor comes and he pees. Does anyone know if he will grow out of this? If so when?

Three weeks ago I adopted Buddy (who is on the website). He is a wonderful dog--very happy, and "laid-back", if you can believe that of a Cairn. However, when he goes to the dog park, his little feet hardly hit the ground when running with the big dogs. He is my 4th Cairn, my last 15 year old having to be put down after a stroke. Cairns are outstanding dogs, and the Southwest Cairn Rescue does fantastic work. They were so good to work with. Thanks so much.

We owned a little Cairn terrier puppy named Toby. We loved him very much. Such a happy little guy and so intelligent. As he grew older, I sadly realized he was too high octane for me, an owner with 12 vertebre fused. After many tears and heart-breaking months of searching, we found a loving family for him on a farm with two mini schnauzers, a barn, and 10 acres of fenced pasture on which to safely hunt and roam. I cried when I gave Toby up, I loved him so. Toby will always remain in my heart. Thank you for helping rescue Cairns. Your website brought back happy memories of my beautiful puppy, Toby.

We adopted our Cairn when she was 7. She was the most wonderful, loving dog we ever rescued. Our beloved girl passed away at almost 15-1/2.

We just wanted to let Linda (Snoopy's foster mom) that our Molly is doing wonderfully. She is such a big part of our family. I can't imagine our home without her. My husband has become totally enthralled with her. Our mature male Golden Retriever has grown to tolerate her and probably likes her more than he knows. We take lots of walks and Molly really likes to walk along the beach in the early mornings. SCR thanks for bringing such a cutie into our lives. Cheers, Mary

Loved the picture of Jake, he's a cutie. Wish we could have him, but have a Schnauzer and can't afford a divorce! Hope he finds a good home.
Keep up the great work.

We are the new proud parents of Snoopy (now her name is Molly). And we love her. She has adapted to our home and family very quickly and we love her. She has had so many walks and a few road trips already. What a pleasant experience this adoption has been. Thank you to SW Cairn Rescue and to Linda (Snoopy/Molly's foster mom).

This is great. I have one Cairn that I got when he was 4 via a Cairn/Westie group here in Phoenix, and I love him dearly. I can't tell if you are in Arizona or California, but I just applied on your volunteer site.

I read your page about Cairn Terrier info and am a little perplexed. I have owned two Cairns, neither or which were aggressive or loud. In fact, one of the reasons I like Cairns so much is because of their sweet nature. If I read your page never having owned Cairns in the past, it would deter me from wanting one. Maybe both Cairns that I had were just "special" in their sweet nature...they were both females and I never had problems with them being excessively loud or intolerant of children.
