Lizzie is a 2 year old active
West Highland Terrier. She needs someone who can keep up with her!
Lizzie is not fond of sharing "things" or her "people" with other dogs.
Lizzie MUST be an only dog.
Lizzie is housetrained and uses a dog door. Lizzie can be a bit of a barker but
with some training that should be under control. Lizzie is located in
San Diego, CA
Update from foster home:
Lizzie is an absolute love! She must be an
only dog even though she is doing much, much better than earlier in the week
interacting with the “pack”. She is very easily trainable in my opinion.
She wants to please so badly.
She does not like
strangers coming to the door. She will NOT come on command yet.
Patience and training will overcome this issue. She is a very typical
terrier in that she will dart out the door when opened – she must have a
lease on her prior to opening the door/security screen door. She is an
accomplished escape artist! Typical terrier…absolutely adores the
bushes and hedges looking for “other living creatures or to bury a
squeaky toy” (she loves the squeaky bones) and drools with her eyes
glazed over in amazement at the site of the canyon “over the back yard
fence”. I truly believe I would only see a flash of white if she was
afforded the opportunity to place her paws on the canyon ground! (So
much like Sheena Rosaleena - partners in a canyon caper if ever there
We are working on the
barking issues and this has improved somewhat. She will sit and stay
and absolutely LOVES to go for walks! She does require stimulating
activities. This is one VERY smart dog and she knows she is special. I
believe she understands exactly what you say, it is absolutely amazing!
There is no limit to her capabilities with the proper care, training,
encouragement, reinforcement and lots of loving attention. She is a paw
paw that will make your eyes sparkle when you speak of her and her
traits. She will be at your side 24/7, so if you are not an individual
who wishes the constant companion at your side to share every waking
moment, Lizzie is not the paw paw for you. Lizzie loves to come in and
out of the doggie door on her own, no accidents in the house, and
appreciates the freedom to run in and out the doggie door to investigate
any noise or smell in the air.
