Gracie

Female

18 months old

Denver, CO

Gracie is an 18 month old spayed female that we think was a backyard breeder’s dog, she has had several litters of pups but now those working days are over and she can take it easy living the life she should. She is under the care of Southwest Cairn Rescue and is being fostered in the Denver metro area. Gracie is up to date on all her shots and is heartworm negative.

She is a little shy as she didn’t get out much in her old life but very quickly warms up to her doggy and human friends. Gracie loves to go for walks in the park and on trails; her tail is up in anticipation when her harness goes on.

Like all self respecting cairns she is prey driven and squirrels and cats are just not allowed in “her” yard so no cats please. Gracie may be a good candidate for earth dog as she is very focused on her prey. She loves her foster brother cairns and seems to enjoy having them around even when they are pesky. She lets them know when they are getting too up close and personal but in a very lady like way.

In the house Gracie is very well mannered; she is housebroken with a routine and loves to nap on the sofa alongside her humans in the evening. Gracie is sleeping in a crate at night but would be just be just as happy at the end of the bed or in a dog bed close by.

Gracie is a sweet and loving girl and would make someone a constant and loyal companion and is ready to start her new life in her forever home.
