Gianna

Female

8 Years

Gianna, or GiGi as she's called, is an 8 year old, female, brindle Cairn with a sassy attitude and a lot of spunk. GiGi was surrendered to a Cairn Rescue organization when her previous owners found out that she had diabetes. They didn't give her up because they didn't want to deal with her condition. They did it out of love for her thinking she would be placed in a more stable home that would be able to monitor her special needs better than they could, since their work keeps them on the road 9 months out of the year.

GiGi is in love with people. She just adores when visitors come to the house so she can get some extra special attention. She's an excellent traveler, most likely due to the fact that she traveled with her previous owners a great deal. She loves to go for walks and is great on a leash. She can be playful, and yet will happily lie at your feet while watching TV. She's not comfortable with other dogs, but has learned to get along really well with her three house mates. She would probably do best as an only dog. She is completely housebroken and is very well behaved at home or when visiting other peoples homes. She is a diabetic and has been taking insulin injections for almost two years now. They are extremely easy to give to her and she's so used to getting them it's just part of her daily routine. Any vet can show you how to administer the injections. GiGi does require a healthy diet which means she can't eat certain things, like sugar and starches, which cause spikes in her blood sugar levels. It's not a difficult diet, but does require reading labels on food and treats to see whether or not the ingredients are okay for her. She's such a good girl and just wants to please everyone. She really deserves a special home of her own. She would be great for a retired couple who like to travel on the road a lot. She would also be great match for a single person looking for some companionship. She's okay with older children and just basically likes everyone she meets. If you think GiGi is the dog for you please contact us since she's been patiently waiting for her special family.

GiGi is presently located in Oceanside, CA.
